When was the last time you wished to run another OS on your PC but did not wish to give up the ease and comfort of windows? Well, we've got you covered. You can run any OS on your PC in what is called a virtual machine.
What exactly is a virtual machine?
In simple words a virtual machine is a full fledged machine in which you can install an OS and do everything which you can do on a physical machine.
How to install a virtual machine?
What you need to download
To create a virtual machine, you need a software called virtual box. This isn't the only software available but this is the easiest to use and also available for free.
Download the correct version according to your PC build.
Next, you need to download the OS which you need to install. You have to download the ISO file of the OS which you wish to install. So, if you search "OPERATING_SYSTEM_NAME ISO DOWNLOAD" on Google, you will easily get the link.
The SET UP
After you have downloaded everything the next step is to install Virtual Box and subsequently the OS.
The entire process is attached as a video.
You can select the RAM and memory space as required.
You can then continue the installation of the OS like you would on a physical computer.
In this video, we show you how to set up a virtual machine. In upcoming posts we will show you how to specifically set up Operating Systems like macOS etc.
Till then stay tuned and create a 100 Threads account.
